AKC014: The Canadian Connection
The Canadian North and Alaska have always been linked throughout history and
today is no different. Westwind Alaska Cargo continues to operate 2 daily
flights to the Canadian North. This route operates from Anchorage (PANC) to
Whitehorse (CYXY) and then on to Inuvik (CYEV).
On the first leg of this service from Anchorage (PANC) to Whitehorse (CYXY)
pilots primarily fly mail and equipment for oil companies operating in both
Alaska and Northern Canada. Additionally we also fly mail for people with families
in both regions. The second leg from Whitehorse (CYXY) to Inuvik (CYEV) transport
supplies from Whitehorse, the largest city the Yukon to Inuvik one of the many
outside
cities served primarily by Whitehorse (CYXY). The return leg to Whitehorse
(CYXY) will
bring mail and supplies from companies and residents in NWT to the rest of Canada.
Finally the last leg of the trip back home to Anchorage (PANC) will carry supplies
back to Alaska for oil companies and also cargo for our global network from the
